The First "Xero" Only Practice                                                       

Our Principal and Founder Chris Reid has been a practicing Chartered Accountant for over 25 years having originally trained and then been a Partner in a Top 20 firm of accountants, then branching out on his own in 1990. This practice was sold as a management buyout together with his Financial Services Company in 2004. 

Chris Reid Ltd was formed in 2006 and has grown enormously currently employing 8 people in Woburn Sands near Milton Keynes with over 150 corporate clients for whom the company acts. The company expanded further and opened an office on Regent Street, London, W1, in April 2009 and Central Manchester in September 2010.  

We are registered and regulated with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and are therefore bound by the Code of Conduct and Ethics set down by our prestigious Institute.

The main area of expansion has been in the non-exec Financial Director area and this has expanded into production of management accounts, virtual financial analysis and interpretation of those accounts to the Board of Directors to whom we report. This has proved to have been a very valuable and attractive service for many companies of all sizes and is a significant value added to their businesses.

We have also created a fully outsourced bookkeeping and payroll department which undertakes all clients bookkeeping requirements, VAT returns, payroll and credit control which then feeds into the management accounts production and financial analysis.

We have become a Silver Standard Partner with Xero www.xero.com an online accounting system and have over 75 clients using this software as an alternative to Sage. We will not be supporting Sage software after March 2011 as we are firm believers in alternatives. 

Our associated firm Zeros Training Ltd provide specialist expertise with the Xero accounting package, and across both companies we now have significant expertise in this product and can personalize it for your business. Full training and back up is so important, we are the only company in the UK providing Xero training to our clients. 

We also now have new software so the company is fully XBRL compliant for the new on-line filing requirements with HMRC and Companies House.     

We also have Director of Tax, Louise Mizen and she has been involved in several advanced tax planning schemes together with the normal compliance tax services for partnerships and companies.

For the larger and more complex clients Chris often attends regularly to see them to undertake a planning and general business advisory service which includes strategic and management planning together with a variety commercial business advices. We have a qualified Company Secretary, Carole Jenkins who deals with all our company secretarial and company formations together with our more complex share capital changes.

We have two qualified accountants in our business, Gayle Baker and Linda Reid who are our Account Executives and liaise closely with all our clients.

A key feature of our business is to make sure the clients do not receive unexpected bills from us. Every client has a pre-quoted fixed fee agreement payable on a monthly standing order to ease cash flow issues. Any one off or work outside the quotation would be pre-quoted and agreed with the client before commencement and is then payable on completion. Hence no unexpected shocks. Unlike most practices of accountants we do not do any time recording so our clients receive full value for money from our agreed fee.
